Giorgio Paolo Campi

Giorgio Paolo Campi is a biblical scholar and a historian of religions. He earned a BA in Classics (University of Bologna) in 2016; a MA in Religious Studies, with a focus on the Hebrew Bible (University of Padua, Ca’ Foscari University, Venice) in 2019, and a PhD in Jewish Studies (University of Bologna) in 2023. His PhD dissertation dealt with metaterminological issues in the use of the concept of “monotheism” for the study of Ancient Israelite Religion.
His research for the project revolves around religious life and cultural identity in Yehud and in exiled Judean communities under Neo-Babylonian and Achaemenid rule (VI-V centuries BCE), focusing on both biblical and non-biblical (especially Akkadian) textual sources.
